He believes that challenging conventional wisdom and enjoying one’s work are what professional life should be about. That’s also the philosophy behind Counterpoint.

John brings an infectious passion and enthusiasm to the office - sharing his ‘anything-is-possible’ perspective with clients and employees alike.
He founded Counterpoint in the belief that commercial retailers and residential developers should expect more from their engineering consultants than competent working drawings. They should want innovative thinking, a deeper, longer-lasting relationship – one in which their goals would be understood and shared by their advisors - and an unwavering commitment to getting things done on, or ahead of schedule. He now spends most waking hours leading the Company - ensuring that it delivers on those beliefs and demonstrating, by example, to the rest of the Counterpoint team that hard work goes hand in hand with job satisfaction and a culture of innovative excellence.
When he’s not in the office he can usually be found schussing half way down a remote double-black run…or half way up some desolate back-country trail on his mountain bike…or golfing with his wife and daughters.
What He’s Good At
Innovation – he sees it as a necessity, not as an option. He has boundless energy and it shows in every project that Counterpoint does. He brings strong intuitive instincts, unbridled optimism and a remarkable ability to keep his fingers on the pulse of every file on the list.
John is multi-skilled, which fits well with his multi-tasking capabilities – like most good leaders he wears many hats simultaneously.
Perhaps his greatest strength, though, is that his nature is to look for the positive – both in the people around him and in the work they do.
