Whether a real estate project is commercial, residential or institutional, the land related issues are usually the most difficult to predict. Anticipating and managing theses variables is the key to cost control.

    Counterpoint Engineering, since its inception, has focused only on the art and science of land development. It’s what we do.

Our Consulting Services

Many of our clients ask us to assist them with due diligence.. They do it because experience has told them there are sometimes issues they can’t foresee that lie dormant beneath the surface. Our experience enables us to identify important earthwork, environmental, servicing , allocation, cost sharing and approval considerations. Site issues are not a problem as our clients know about them before purchasing a site. They can be dealt with in the purchase price and integrated into the design and approval process. We also help them with site evaluations, probable costs, timing, the likelihood of regulatory issues and their sustainability and environmental goals.

Our Engineering Services

We offer a full range of design and engineering services within the scope of land development, including project management, site feasibility, site planning and design, site cost and cost control, storm-water management, functional servicing reports and construction staging and phasing.

Our Approvals Services

Because land development is all we do, we are intimately familiar with the regulatory policies and procedures, for both greenfield and repurposed urban developments, in most Canadian provinces. Additionally, many of our people have, over time, built strong knowledge bases within individual regulatory groups. While our kind of experience is essential to the approvals process, the greater value may be in counseling our clients before that process begins.
